A Great Website for readers

Posted by ascamacho on 30th June 2009

I like to point out good reads and places you can find them.  One such place is the “Between the Lines” web site.

On “Between the Lines” you’ll find essays by and for authors, news of the best bookstores and reviews of new mystery novels.  In fact, earlier this month the site featured an insightful review of Russian Roulette.  It is a site worth visiting often.

Fun Weekend Past

Posted by ascamacho on 29th June 2009

My home state fans really turned out to embrace Russian Roulette in the last couple of days.  I had a very successful book signing at the Borders Express in Springfield Mall Saturday.  Then Sunday it was déjà vu happiness at the Borders Express in Dulles Town Center Mall.  It is nice to be so welcomed.

Meanwhile, the Russian Roulette blog tour continued on the Amused Authors blog.  This site usually focuses more on more romantic fare but last week Russian Roulette took center stage.  Check it out!

Today, Live and On Line

Posted by ascamacho on 28th June 2009

Today I roll over to the Borders Express in Dulles Town Center Mall.  I’ll hang out there from noon to 4 pm so stop by and say hi.  If you haven’t been there, Mapquest to 21100 Dulles Town Circle, Dulles VA.  Borders Express has become the neighborhood bookstore and the best place to find the books you want, including mine.

On line, The Russian Roulette blog tour continues on the Amused Authors blog.  Check it out!

Cool New Review of Russian Roulette

Posted by ascamacho on 23rd June 2009

Russian Roulette has been gathering nice reviews and several have appeared on Amazon.com.  Today I’d like to tell you about the review from Jennie Deitz Weingardt.

I knew Jennie when she lived much closer, and was a member of the Maryland Writers Association.  She was a leader and hard worker as well as a fine writer and we served together on various committees.

Jennie has now returned to her home grounds in Huntington, WV where she runs a number of businesses and still finds time to write travel and human interest stories.  She’s been published in a number of magazines and is currently working on a novel, so I was flattered that she took the time to read and review Russian Roulette.  You can read her review on Amazon.com or scroll down past the videos and read it on my web site.

What Happened Last Week??

Posted by ascamacho on 22nd June 2009

I am thankful for the warm welcome I received at Waldenbooks in Virginia Center Commons Saturday.  The store is right next to the food court so there was plenty of traffic and I’ve never met a friendlier, more pleasant team of booksellers.  If you’re near there stop by and say hello.  I think they have a few copies of my novels left.

Also this week my good friends at the Maryland Writers Association joined the Russian Roulette blog tour by posting my Russian Roulette videos on their blog.  You should view those again, but also check out the Maryland Writers Association blog at

And BV Lawson presented my new novel on her informative blog “In Reference to Murder.”  After you read the Russian Roulette blog, explore the site.  Mystery fans should  check out the bibliographies section, with book and author lists, and the sections for mystery Awards, Blogs, Bookstores, Conferences, Games, Magazines and Newsletters, and Reviews.  For mystery writers, there are sections on links for Agents, Publishers, the Business of Writing, and lots of references to help with research for stories in the Crime Scene Investigation, Crimes by Type, Dictionaries, Forensics, Government and Law, Police Procedures, Private Investigation, and True Crime.

My next stop on the blog tour was Pop Syndicate where I tried something a little different.  Instead of being interviewed, I decided to interview Hannibal Jones.  He was pretty upfront with me at

And MOST IMPORTANT: Russian Roulette was entered in the “Wake up… Celebrity Author” contest.  This is a pure popularity contest with a huge potential payoff.  The book with the most votes at the end of the contest will appear on the Barnes & Noble Bestseller List.  Please cast your vote as soon as you can so we can show those booksellers that Hannibal Jones deserves a lot more attention.

Tomorrow I’ll make my first trip to the Waldenbooks in Glen Allen, VA.  This is my chance to introduce my book to the Richmond-area readers and I expect a pretty strong turnout.  This popular bookstore is in the Virginia Center Commons, 10101 Brook Glenn Allen, VA.  I’ll sign books from 1 pm to 5 pm
